I'm looking forward to the first Swiss Lean Day!

Generations of Swiss startups have been inspired by Jean-Pierre Vuilleumier, Managing Director of CTI Invest, learned how to pitch successfully and write financial plans. Once again, Jean-Pierre proves why he is the best startup coach in Switzerland: On October 20, 2015, he organized the first one Lean Day in Berne.

While other coaches still rave about intellectual property rights and also at CTI Startup One of the funding criteria is intellectual property rights, Jean-Pierre relies on the Lean Startup concept. On Startupticker.ch he can be quoted as follows: "Swiss start-ups waste an awful lot of time writing and designing business plans, instead of, for example, talking to customers as early as possible". I share Jean-Pierre's opinion: the most perfect business plan is meaningless if the market receives the product differently than expected. In times of 3D printers and agile development, every startup can immediately test its idea with a prototype at early advertisers and receive initial feedback before investing huge amounts of resources in a product that no one ultimately wants to buy.

Ash Maurya, the author of the book Running Lean, will present his concept at the event itself. In breakout sessions, participants immediately implement what they have just learned under the guidance of coaches. The concept of Lean Day seems very promising to me. It's actually a tragedy that lean startups are still largely unknown in Switzerland, while internationally many startups are founded extremely successfully using lean methods. I hope that Lean Day will shake up the scene and make it more competitive.
